Living in the Best Place on Earth features photographs taken by a group of young people who inhabit the social, spatial and economic margins of Greater Vancouver. Beginning in 2011, these young people were invited to produce a series of photo essays around diverse themes. Created over five years, the images they produced are embedded with personal biographies and trajectories, and illustrate what was at stake for them during a particular moment in their lives. However, the images also reflect young people’s desires to articulate new stakes in the city, and shared longings for different kinds of futures in Vancouver.
